With periodontal (gum) disease, it’s even more important to take care of your teeth. That means thorough daily hygiene with brushing and flossing, as well as regular dental appointments.

Periodontal disease is a chronic inflammatory disease meaning the more prolonged the symptoms persist, the more damage that may occur. If left untreated, it can destroy vital gum tissue, ligaments, and even the bones which support the teeth themselves. In fact, periodontal disease is the most common cause of tooth loss in adults. Additionally, (as more and more research on the subject comes to light) there may be a relationship between chronic gum disease and other health conditions like cardiovascular disease, stroke, and rheumatoid arthritis.

So, now that you know it’s essential to maintain healthy teeth and gums, don’t wait any longer to address your periodontal disease. We’ll make sure your teeth and gums stay in great shape for years to come! Contact us today for an appointment.
